Mexico – Day 89

It was Daylight Saving Time change in Mexico overnight so we are back with only one hour difference with home. Mornings have been very cloudy lately but always clear up by 11am.

Max’s stomach was still bothering her but we still went to the La Cruz market because last week, I had bought her a beaded ring and they forgot to give us the bag. When we realized it, we were home and since the market happens only on Sunday, it was our last chance to go back. The lady was very understanding and sorry about it, even though she didn’t realize it. She gave Max another ring.

On the way there, we had stopped at a new restaurant called Pata de Elephante, serving breakfast and lunch. Max had a bowl of fruits, I had eggs benedicts and Pogo had decadent french toasts with caramel, fruits and ice cream.

We stopped at the car wash and the grocery store. And were able to finally take the exit at the Blvd Central by the Flamingo Golf Course to get back to the condo. It had been closed since we had arrived as they were redoing the road.

We came back around 1pm and Max went straight to bed. Pogo read and took a nap. I started packing my suitcase. I’m not sure where everything I bought, plus stuff that Max and Shaun asked us to bring back, will fit.

I sat outside for a while and took it all in. I am so looking forward being home but at the same time, I started feeling the depression of the vacation being over. I guess it must mean that it has been great this year and the forecast for 3 consecutive days of rain when we get back doesn’t help.

We tried another new restaurant for dinner, Japanese this time, called Yeo. We over did it but every dish we tried was delicious! We started with 3 appetizers: Crispy Tuna Rice, Rock Shrimp and Truffled Gyozas. Then we shared 4 rolls: Soft Shelled Crab, Eel, Tuna Special and Maguro. We finished it off with some kind of Banana Pie. Yummy!!

They had a DJ and maybe a dozen big screens showing mostly 80s and 90s dance music. I hate to say that it was quite entertaining. Also most drinks were 2 for 1. Oh and our waiter was wearing one black rubber glove…

We rolled ourselves back to the sidewalk and asked the valet attendant to retrieve our car from the sea of white vehicles. Most restaurants on Nuevo Vallarta Boulevard have valet parking as we can’t park on the street.
