March 16 and 17, 2024
Pogo went to pickleball and they had breakfast again at No Soy Juan afterwards. I did laundry and FaceTimed with Michel.
Pogo spent the afternoon working on a new movie.
Shaun and Max spent the afternoon together and had dinner at McGillicuddy or as Max likes to call it Mcguilgutties…HaHa! Shaun left Penny with Max overnight and she was very happy!
We went to Sandrina’s for dinner in Bucerias. I was lucky to get a table on the same day but it was at 5pm so we hurried there and it was really yummy. We both had one of the specials which was salmon with a citrus pesto sauce with grilled garlic shrimp. It was accompanied by cheesy mashed potatoes, grilled veggies and a beet salad. It also started with a caesar salad. I couldn’t eat it all.
We hadn’t been there in years and I realized how much I love the decor there. They also had a store with gorgeous glasses and dishes but all the paintings and pottery all over the place were for sale as well.
When we came back, we went to Mario and Josée’s condo and played a game of sequence and a game of dice.
We heard and saw mariachis on the beach serenading a dinner party.
Sunday morning was very relaxed. Pogo worked some more on his movie and I started going through the toiletries I will leave here for next year.
Mario and Josée invited us for lunch. Mario grilled some sausages with cheese and we made sandwiches. It was delicious! Mario, an avid moose hunter, entertained us with his many adventures. He will be flying to Newfoundland this September to a licensed hunting outfitter who will provide him and his friends with one on one guides.
We then went to Michel and Dee. Michel wanted to fly his kite so we went on the beach. He attempted at least 5 times but the wind was just not strong enough so we went back to their condo. We had a glass of wine, a few appetizers and were back by 5pm.
Shaun sent me pictures of him fishing. His goal is to go fishing every month this year.
We had filet mignon for dinner, compliments of Mario, and I had just enough vegetables to make a salad to go with it. We watched the end of the documentary Lover, Stalker, KIller. There are some sick people out there.
Maxime’s Travels Update:
I finally found out details about what her flights home had been like. From the pictures she sent me, a lot of eating was involved…
She first took the 5am ferry with a beautiful sunrise. It might be the reason she was late catching her first flight as she had told me she was going to take a 3am ferry? I digress…She took a private little van back to the city and straight to the airport for $35. She slept most of the way there but spent the last hour unpacking and repacking her backpack in the backseat. Haha, typical Max!
Flight 1: Cebu City to Taiwan (3hrs). She said she looked homeless but felt rich being in business class. Flight 2: Taiwan to South Korea (2h30m). Flight 3: South Korea to Tokyo (2hrs), her only economy flight. In Tokyo, she had 11 hours to kill so she took her first ever shower in an airport. Flight 4: Tokyo to Washington DC (12h30m) with butler service and filet mignon. Chase Sapphire Lounge in DC for a few hours. Flight 5: DC to BTV (1h30m) , home sweet home. She snagged the last seat on the plane with her standby ticket. She got the original flight that she wanted (but was too expensive) at the price she wanted, instead of the much later flight she had booked that was much cheaper.

hopefully Shaun will catch bigger fish next month.
