Nuevo Nayarit, Mexico – Day 27-28

February 6 and 7, 2024

Pogo went to pickleball and I went for a mani-pedi. The choices of gel polishes were not great so I picked what I thought was a light shimmering pink for my fingernails but after 3 coats, it came out as white. Not in love but it will have to do for a few weeks.

We had coffee and croissant on the balcony and just chilled all morning. It felt strange after being on the go since we arrived here.

The tide seemed finally low so we decided to go for a walk on the beach. It looked good from the 4th floor but it was far from good. The sandy portion of the beach was still steep and the flat portion was either very soft or too wet. If you tried walking in the water, you could suddenly have water to your knees, so uneven and dangerous. I assume the hurricane in the fall affected the slope of the beach.

We made it to Mozza Mare, the beach club of the Marival Hotel, and had lunch there. We asked for water and they brought us watermelon agua fresca. It was good and we thought maybe they didn’t have water? We saw the charge for it on the bill later on and Pogo made them take it off. We walked back on the street.

We went to the pool, the sky got very cloudy and we had a strange sunset, we watched 2 episodes of the traitor, had chicken wings for dinner and went to bed early.

Wednesday morning, the crocodile was back in front of the condo. Pogo droned it. I drove to PT for my 9am appointment. Pogo went to La Comer then Starbucks. It was the Wednesday market. While Pogo ordered some breakfast burritos for us, I walked through the small market. I was surprised to see things I had not seen before. I will have to go back without Grumpy. I drove back home. I should be comfortable enough to drive on my own for my next appointment.

I was again very tired so we stayed in the condo. I actually took a nap. I still don’t have a lot of energy and I had to keep it for our 4:30pm pickleball lesson with Tomas. We both took an hour lesson but we alternated every 30 minutes which was good because it was very humid. I met Tomas’s girlfriend April. They both are from Argentina, here for 3 months.

After our showers, we decided to go to Al Pastor Sonorita for a late and quick dinner and it was sooo good! Pogo was in heaven! We watched another episode of traitor.

Over the weekend, Shaun had some friends over and burned his Christmas tree in the backyard. I think his bonfire must have lasted 3 1/2 seconds.

Maxime’s travels update:

She spent a few days island hopping, stayed overnight in sleeping huts, took naps on the boat, snorkeled and saw another shipwreck, and became friends with a bunch of girls. Luna bought a new drone for the trip and got some great shots and videos! She sent me again some amazing pictures!
