Shaun left at 6:45am to meet with Oscar, a guide he had hired to bring him fly fishing. He was gone for 5 hours. It just happened that the company Oscar worked for, is owned by someone originally from Vermont.

The rest of us met at 9am for breakfast without Max because she’s not an early riser but I did order her breakfast at 10:15am and she joined us outside the restaurant to eat it while we played a game of funny faces Rubik’s cubes.

Michel and I went to do a little shopping, bought nothing and ran into Edward looking for a pair of flip flops. We walked back together and changed into our swimsuits determined to walk on the sandbars despite the weather still being a bit windy. We ran into Shaun on the beach, coming back from fishing with his guide, on their way to grab lunch.

We made it to the sandbar and walked for over an hour. At some point, trying to reach another sandbar, we had water to our thighs. Someone coming back towards us told us that we had about half an hour walk to reach it and as the tide was getting higher, we decided to turn back. It was fine with me as my knees were really hurting by then and my water shoes had given me a few blisters.

We stopped at Mama Ñaña for drinks and snacks and Shaun joined us.

We got back at our hotel around 3pm and had free time until 5:30 when we gathered to use our free drinks vouchers from the hotel. They had given us a 5% discount on half of our bill and a free drink voucher when we arrived because they were doing construction.

We walked on the beach to go to the restaurant Max had recommended for dinner while stopping here and there to take pictures of the sunset.

We went to Luuma, a Mexican tapas restaurant and everything was excellent. We all shared Vietnamese spring rolls, lamb tacos, octopus empanadas, fish balls, crispy pork and panko shrimp. We were so full but we still had dessert. Best meal so far on this trip.

We had a nightcap at Salma on our way back home.

We made plans to meet earlier tomorrow morning to make our way to our next destination.
