Nayarit Day 85

April 4, 2023

We did laundry, finished packing our bags and said our goodbyes to Martha and Leti when they arrived to clean the place. We left our beautiful condo at 9:30am, stopped at La Tarantella for breakfast and returned our rental car.

We arrived at the airport at 11am. It was much earlier that we needed to be there but we were worried about any protests on the road. On the way there, we say at least 30 policemen on motorbikes going the opposite way, so we thought they probably were on their way to start doing emission checks.

We were pretty much first in line to check our bags and arrived at the lounge by 11:30am. We didn’t have to pay because we have priority passes but otherwise, it would have cost $50 per person, which would have been a rip off since they had no food. In the 2h30m we were there, they brought 3 trays of sandwiches which would disappear in 30 seconds. There was a gross couple that were laying down on a couch barefoot. Some people have no class. At least we had comfortable seats and I had my g&t, required before flying.

We left at 2:45pm. The 4h30m flight went well. I watched The Fablemans and I enjoyed it. I also watched a documentary on a TV Character from my youth called Patof and it was quite interesting.

We arrived in Montreal 30 minutes early at 9:15pm (7:15pm PV time). Immigration went really fast but we had to wait 35 minutes for our luggage. Mario and Josée were waiting for us and drove to the arrival just as we got outside. They had a big empty trailer attached to their pickup truck so not an easy task to drive at a busy airport. There was a lot of traffic leaving the city as they were working on the Champlain Bridge and they only had one lane opened.

We finally arrived home at 1am. Shaun, Ashley and Penny were there to welcome us back. We chatted for a little bit and we all went to bed. It felt really good to be home despite the fact that we had had a great time in Mexico.

In the morning, Mario put his new amazing corvette in the trailer. We all had coffee then went to Wally’s for breakfast. We said our goodbyes to our friends and we went home to Penny. Home sweet Home!
