Nuevo Nayarit Day 79

March 29, 2023

We went to La Isla for breakfast. We noticed that some iguanas were digging holes. Graciela said that it was the time of year that they lay their eggs. The babies will come out in June, strangely on the first day of rain.

Jes (or Mario), the waiter, kept going to the fenced side of the restaurant, looking at something, then finally came back with a newborn kitten. They had noticed yesterday that there was a cat with six kittens on the other side of he fence but this morning, she had moved them all and had left one behind. Grace fed it some cream from the corner of a ziploc bag. It was so cute to watch. Just like that, she became the new owner of a kitten. She named him or her Rosco which means donut in English. As soon as she put it in a box to sleep, her two parrots started screaming. She brought the box close to them and introduced them to the kitty. It was incredible to see how interested they were in it. I swear they were understanding what she was telling them. The female Coco was nodding in approval and the male Clay was not happy. She said he was jealous.

Yesterday, there were puppies, today a kitty. Overload cuteness!

I decided to start going through all of our toiletries, cleaning stuff, etc and to split them in a bring home pile and a leave pile. It was a grey day and I thought I might as well start packing slowly so I started folding some of my clothes to put into travel cubes.

We did some balconville. Pogo went in the pool and he said the water was cold.

I just realized that it has been 103 days since we left for Mexico on December 17 2022, besides the week we came back to visit my aunt. I am ready to go home. The house was cleaned on Monday and they have started working on our decks again as of yesterday. There is no more snow and the deer have been around, probably eating all our new plants. We will have much to do when we get home so I will try to enjoy our last few days of “farniente” but I miss my family and friends. I miss my house. I’m ready.
