Nuevo Nayarit Day 52

March 2, 2023

We got up at 6:30am, took our showers and washed the sheets before Pogo’s 8am appointment at the hospital and Martha’s arrival. The nurse took Pogo’s blood, separated the platelets from the plasma and gave him a vial with the plasma needed for his 2nd PRP treatment. We drove to the doctor’s office and he was injected in his knees with it. I also got cortisone shots in both knees. My left leg was still very swollen from my fall so Dr Edgar gave me a week’s worth of Danzen, an anti-inflammatory drug that should take care of it.

We asked him for a recommendation for a breakfast place and he sent us to Proyeco (Project) Darwin. It was about 15 minutes away. It was a cute new restaurant in the middle of nowhere. We shared an almond croissant and Pogo had an egg, cheese and bacon croissant. I had a choripan which consisted of a warm and crispy baguette with a chorizo sausage and chimichurri sauce. It was so delish! Our coffees were hot and delicious as well as our pineapple and honey juices. Can’t wait to go back!

We had planned on going to do a small grocery but decided to go back to the condo to take a nap instead. Around 2pm, we went to take a walk on the beach since the tide was low. It was so different than from previous years. There were a lot of pools of water everywhere. Certainly not as enjoyable as it has been before. I was very careful not to hurt my knees and my swollen foot so we walked for only 45 minutes.

We met Mario and Josée in the parking lot and we drove to El Pesquero for dinner. I had a green salad and the 3 others had tostadas as an appetizer. Mario and I had spaghetti with lobster as our main, Pogo had fish tacos and Josée had pesto mahi mahi. They let us bring a bottle of wine and didn’t charge us an uncorking fee. The staff is very friendly and the food is really good. It has been a great new restaurant to discover.

We watched the 1st episode of the new season of Survivor.
