Nuevo Nayarit Day 50

February 28, 2023

We introduced the boys to Mama Nena for breakfast then Pogo dropped us off at the Tuesday market. I bought a nice ring that made me think of my Mom because she would have loved it. We walked back home, slowly as my knee was still hurting from my fall. Michel and Edward took a long walk on the beach, took a dip in the ocean then we met them in the pool and sat in the sun to dry out. We noticed that our frenemy “DOD Mike” and his wife “Elvira” were back. Mike who last year used to be blond, and was grey about a month ago, now had black hair. He must be undercover…

Michel and Edward had invited us to dinner and had made a reservation in PV so we decided to take a taxi to get there. The taxi driver of the van we had ordered was asking 700 pesos ($35) one way so Pogo decided to drive. Highway robbery! We arrived in PV around 5pm, walked the Malecon then went to Noroc, a fancy and unique restaurant right on the beach. Each round table was surrounded by water. We started with a cocktail. Mine had smoke bubbles on top. We had salads and brie with smoked salmon for appetizers. Michel had a filet mignon, Pogo had red snapper and Edward and I had chicken stuffed with shrimp. We all had desserts: chocolate cake, key lime pie and churros. The whole meal was delicious! The only negative was when the waiter who had been terrific the whole time, asked Edward if we wanted to add 20 or 25% as a tip… We had a stunner of a sunset.

On our walk back to the car, Edward noticed a young couple whispering and walking really close to us. He instinctively put his wallet in his front pocket. The rest of us had not noticed them. At some point, the girl passed to my left really quickly, went in front of me and started walking really slow, almost stopping us. She was looking at her phone. I started having a bad feeling. I told Pogo we should pull to the side. We passed her quickly, looked back and saw her with the boyfriend. Edward made eye contact with him which stopped them in their track and they immediately turned around and went the other way. We were sure they were about to attempt robbing us. It was not a good experience.

We got home around 10pm and went to bed pretty quickly. Max sent me a message which included a video of a big cockroach in her bed. She said she woke up because it was crawling on her!!! Gross!!

Shaun is becoming a cook and made a crispy chili lime shrimp creation for his dinner.
