Mexico – Day 72

We slept in then stopped at the bank on our way to Mama Nena. We didn’t have any food left in the condo, not even milk for coffee. The place was packed but as usual we were the only tourists. I had Chilaquiles and Pogo had Huevos Rancheros. The orange bougainvilleas had a few hummingbirds flying around all during our breakfast.

We picked up milk on our way home, saw that La Isla was open (they are usually closed on Thursday) so we stopped to talk to Graciela and she told us that they were having a St. Patrick’s day dinner so we reserved a table.

The afternoon was literally spent writing the first blog of our time away to Tequila. I sat 15 minutes on the balcony than I took my shower to go for dinner.

We arrived at La Isla at 6:15pm and the place was already packed with “Leprechauns”. We didn’t know what was on the menu but were agreeably surprised that it was guacamole, pico de gallo and chips, Irish beef stew which was so delicious, bread and cassata (ice cream cake) for dessert.

They had planned on karaoke for entertainment but the connection didn’t work properly so they turned it into a dance party. I was actually really happy that the karaoke didn’t work because there was a lot of pressure for us to go sing. We had a good time dancing and I’m sure the staff was happy to see us leave as they had to work on their usual day off and they had to be there for breakfast the next morning.

  1. Top of the morning. Sounds like a fun party albeit out of place in Mexico. But I would’ve gone too, glad you didn’t sing: whadoidooooooooo
