Mexico – Day 60

Just like that, we have been in Mexico for 2 months. Time definitely flies by.

I woke up to our outside camera back home capturing a coyote on our lawn. We also had the same silly squirrel triggering the camera as he does almost every day. And! we saw a huge turtle walking back to the ocean, right in front of our condo! I had seen some weird tracks on the sand, not realizing it was made by turtles (2 according to Alberto, one of the guards) until we saw one turtle making its way to the water. Pogo ran down and made a little movie. Alberto said that they might be back soon since he doesn’t think they had time to lay their eggs. So cool!

I chatted with Shaun. He tapped some of our maple trees so hopefully he will get enough sap to make some maple syrup. He said that the gas in Vermont just hit $4/gallon. He sent me a pic of my sweet Penny.

We walked to Starbucks, had our refresher, then walked to La Isla for breakfast. When we came back, the bay was covered with boats! I had never seen so many, like probably 100 small sailboats, a dozen racing windsurfers as well as a bunch of kitesurfers. It stayed busy until around 4:30pm.

We saw Mario and Josée in the pool and they said they were burned out after having so much company for the last month as well as getting sick. We are tired and have been hanging with them all for just a few days these past weeks so I can just imagine how exhausted they are.

We went back to the condo, read on the balcony, took a nap, had burgers for dinner and watched Inventing Anna.

    1. I think they would and also sometimes the turtles protection society (or something like that) dig them out and put them somewhere safe, away from predators. So far, they haven’t been back though.
