Mexico – Day 57

The tide was so high when we got up that the waves went all the way up to the palapas. Pogo had a scheduled call with Tasso from Chicken Charlie this morning who wanted to get his advice about selling his business. We then walked to La Isla for breakfast and the burrito was so good!!

The afternoon was spent doing laundry, planning a little more about the kids visit and making a list of things we want to do before going home. Irene Facetimed me from Florida to invite us to Craig’s 60th birthday on July 31 and to ask me if her brother could stay with us from July 28 to Aug 1st. I also chatted with Max for a well overdue catching up session.

While in the pool, we saw a man fishing on the beach. He caught a small manta ray. We could tell he was nervous about taking it off the hook. His excited family was surrounding him. After finally unhooking it, a passerby grabbed it and brought it back to the ocean. I unfortunately don’t have a picture.

We went to Nicksan for dinner, The sashimi salad was just ok. The pieces of tuna and sea bass were too big and there was no dressing on the lettuce. The rest of the meal was fantastic: Eel special roll, Sake Lemon roll with salmon, crispy shrimp lettuce wrap and fried ice cream. The decaf coffee might have been regular as we were still awake by midnight.
