I woke up around midnight with Pogo snoring loudly. After 10 minutes of not being able to get back to sleep because of his snoring and because of his phone beeping, I woke him up.
Me: Pogo, can you turn on your side? You are snoring.
Pogo: I am not snoring.
Me: Yes, you are.
Pogo: No, it’s not me.
Me:…..
Me: Well, can you tell whoever is snoring, that your phone is beeping.
Pogo: It’s not my phone.
Me: Yes it is.
Pogo: No it’s not, I turned it off before going to bed.
Pogo’s phone: BEEP!!!!
Pogo: What the heck?
It took a while but we both went back to sleep. We woke up to a very foggy day but as usual, it didn’t last.
We had a late breakfast at Mr Cream on our way to Mega to pay for the ticket and retrieve Pogo’s driver’s licence. We found the little office with 2 windows in the small mall attached to Mega. We went to the first window and paid the ticket and Pogo got his driver’s licence back. We paid 485 pesos instead of the 880 pesos the policeman had told us it would be. Then we had to move 2ft to the right to get our receipt. The girl there had just left and returned only 20 minutes later, probably on her break. I’m not sure why the first girl couldn’t stamp the paperwork herself…
On our way back, we saw the same policeman who pulled us over at the same spot. We noticed he had a remote control in his hand controlling the lights! No wonder the yellow light had turned red so quickly. What a scam!
I did a little balconville while Pogo looked for pinholes in his eyelids. We went to the pool, took a shower, met our friends at the gate to get into the taxi we had called to bring us for dinner and then…a bird pooped on my head…Pogo cleaned my hair as good as he could but I finally went back to the condo to clean it properly and to add a little perfumed dry shampoo to cover the stink.
We had a special dinner at Sonora Prime, located at the PV marina, to celebrate Alain’s birthday. It was quite a treat! We started with cocktails and we didn’t know that they were 2 for one. I chose a tiki looking one called Skull Rabbit. No explanation needed. It was good on top of that. Mario picked a bottle of wine and the waiter told him that the second one would be half price. He ordered it immediately in case they changed their minds. Haha!
I’m not sure if it was the restaurant’s specialty but we picked 3 different cuts of beef that were cooked on blocks of salt at our table. The meat was so tender and delicious! We had a few side dishes of grilled veggies, mashed potatoes, mushroom and creamed spinach. We were so full but we had to have dessert so we shared a cheesecake and a banana pie plus the birthday dessert they brought to Alain. We all had coffee and sambuca on ice.
It was a total feast and Diane insisted on paying the bill in honor of her boyfriend’s birthday. It was very generous of her as I can just imagine how expensive a meal it was. On our way home, Mario had the taxi driver make a quick pit-stop at an outside bar close to our condo called Bananabar to have another unneeded nightcap.
It was yet another great evening shared with great friends.

Glad Rondy got a discount on his ticket
