Mexico – Day 49

Happy “Twosday” 2-22-22 🙂

Derrick and Deidre had their antigen tests around 9am. Derrick was a little worried because of having a cough and sore throat for the last few days but both tests were negative. A good thing as Pogo and I were getting ready to find them a nice palapa on the beach for the next 10 days.

Pogo dropped Deidre and I at the market (she bought a dozen shawls for her store and I bought a dress and top), drove to La Isla to park the car, walked with Derrick to Starbucks and we all met at La Isla around 11am for brunch. Deidre and Derrick were craving the eggs florentina. Pogo and I shared a fruit platter and avocado toast. It was so hot already that I was happy to have the car to go back to the condo.

Max landed in Cancun this morning and Gabriel, who was picking her up, arrived with his suitcase and said: Turn around, we are flying to Guadalajara for a week. It was a great surprise but she was so exhausted and was looking forward to just relax on the beach all week. I’m sure she will have a fabulous time.

We sat on the beach for a few hours. Deidre bought 8 bags from a vendor. Then it was time for them to start packing.

On our way to dinner in Bucerias, we stopped at Walmart so Deidre could buy a backpack to bring back all her purchases. Pogo had made a reservation at Los Pericos but at the last minute, we decided to go to Dugarel Plays instead to be closer to the ocean. We all had shrimp dishes and shared some calamari. We had 2 mariachis sing to us, what else but Cucurrucucu La Paloma and Guadalajara! It might be time to expand our repertoire. After dinner, we found a churro cart and enjoyed a few. I tried a nutella this time but caramel is still my favorite.

On our return, Pogo and Derrick went for a dip in the pool while Deidre and I chatted on the balcony.
