Sylvie's Travels Home

Pogo had left to do a few errands early and Marta and her friend Lette arrived earlier than normal to clean the condo so we left for our walk only at 10:30am.  

We saw the Grand Velas hotel redoing the palapa over the front entrance with only one worker tied up with a rope.  

We stopped at Starbucks for a refresher then went to Jude Bistro for lunch.  We walked back by the marina and watched people putting a small sailboat down in the water with just enough space in front of other boats. We saw a few unusual rides on the way as well. 

We got back at 1pm and the really hot walk had sucked all of our energy so we stayed in, napped and did some balconville.

We went in the pool around 4:30pm. We chatted with Mario and Josée for a little bit then Jean-Marie joined us and told us about a restaurant he had been to the night before that he was highly recommending so we decided to go there for dinner. God forbid we would cook the food we have in the condo. We also chatted with some women we had never met from Toronto and got more restaurants recommendations from them.

We made a reservation at Ernesto for 7pm.  It was located in Jarretaderas, the next town over, and we would never have found it if not for google maps. It looked like it had once been used as a large carport. It was definitely family owned which we love. We both had the mini tortilla soup and a half order of ribs dish that Jean-Marie had recommended and it was really good. Pogo thought the ribs were too small but there was plenty of meat on them. I had chosen mashed potatoes to go with it and I also got veggies. Pogo picked fries and there were hardly any with no veggies. We had a few beers but we could have brought our wine.

On the way there, we saw men sitting in the back of a pick up truck. Nothing unique about that but there was 4 gas canisters with them and one of them lit a joint while the others were drinking beers…

We had no internet all day, it was so frustrating.
