Mexico – Day 13

We were awaken at 6:30am by a plumber finally getting back to us. He couldn’t come until the afternoon. Micky, the plumber we had used before called us back around 8:30am and went to the house right away. By 1pm, he had found 3 leaks in the big room… 😦 and he hadn’t checked the laundry room yet.

The only positive of the early call was to see the almost full moon reflecting on the ocean.

Michel and Edward sent me some pictures of them walking this morning in the snow and freezing rain. They looked like ice sculptures. They ended up having about 1.5 ft of snow.

We walked to La Isla (surprise surprise!) for breakfast. We found out that they are opened only for breakfast and lunch on Sunday. We both had chilaquiles with an egg and it was so so good. 10K steps a day is not going to make a difference the way we are eating. Somebody stop us!

We thought it would be fun at some point to go out for dinner with Graciela and Andreas for dinner so we invited them. We told them to pick the time and place. Then Graciela invited us to go to her Mom’s wedding on the 29th. We felt very honored and excited to attend a real Mexican wedding. She said it would be small. We have to decide if we want to attend because of Covid cases growing here. I guess we will need more details.

We continued to Starbucks to get our refreshers. Today the barrister understood Pogo’s name as Paulo. It’s always fun to see what they will name him. We got back at the condo at noon and it felt so good to have the breeze coming from the ocean as we were drenched from our walk. We keep saying we need to leave for our walk earlier but we are procrastinators.

Since Pogo still had to be available to talk with the plumber, we stayed at the condo and “enjoyed” sitting on the balcony listening to banging, drilling and metal cutting as they are repairing the railing from the 4th floor of the building next door, same level as ours. At some point, one of the worker was sitting with one leg down, on the open edge, drilling holes. Scary stuff.

Pogo was in touch with the plumber until about 3pm. He had found 2 more leaks but couldn’t find the damaged pipes. He thought they were behind the dishwasher. He also had to leave because he had another job to go to. Pogo called the old owner to find out where the pipes were. One of the damaged pipes could be under the floor in the kitchen nook….Great! Under our brand new floors! The plumber will be back sometime next week.

We went to the pool around 5pm, had margaritas (surprise surprise!) provided by Mario. After the sunset, we all went home to have dinner. The full moon was rising by then. We watched The Last Duel, which was just OK, and went to bed.
