March 6 and 7, 2024
I went to my 10am PT appointment. I told Ishmael that my knees were still hurting. He went to get the doctor. The doctor said that it was too early to tell and that I should feel much better in a week. I hope so.
I was telling Ishmael about all the misadventures of our vacation in Samao and he said that there are a lot of Narcos there and that a few years ago, there was a 3 days cartel wedding celebration at the lagoon and there was a shooting with another cartel. I looked online but couldn’t find anything about it.
I spent the afternoon doing domestic stuff and reading. Pogo alternated between TikTok’s and naps. They had taken all the chairs off the beach and had been sifting the sand the day before and the chairs were still not back on the beach. Obviously all the chairs by the pool were taken. They always do a big cleaning before all the owners come back for Easter vacation.
We went for an early dinner at Niksan and shared a cucumber salad, a soft shell crab, gorgonzola shrimp and a sake lemon roll. We finished it all with fried ice cream and cappuccinos. All very yummy!
We watched another episode of The Tourist season 2.
Thursday morning, Pogo went to pickleball. I saw some kind of tractor sand cleaner machine thingy on the beach with people following with nets and garbage bags. The beach must be really clean by now. We had a coffee at Starbucks then at 11am I went to have my roots done at the salon. I had to wait for almost 30 minutes so I didn’t get out of there until 12:45pm. We went to Mama Nena and had lunch. I love going there and taking pictures. It is so colorful. Leo the manager, as well as the staff, are always very welcoming. Pogo ordered a tortilla soup and a fish ceviche. I ordered mahi mahi. They gave us a small soup first. The portions were as big as dinner portions. Pogo brought back a lot of the ceviche home.
It was very windy, as it usually gets in March so we did some balconville. We are definitely ready for doing new adventures. We booked a night in San Sebastian for next week and made a list of restaurants and places we want to visit before we leave. We watched a few more episodes of The Tourist.
Maxime’s Travels Update:
She has been in Bantanyan for one day but she sent me pictures of her last days exploring Cebu. The first pictures are of one of the oldest houses in Cebu. It is a Chinese house full of old trinkets. She said that people were always asking her to take selfies with her and were shocked when she asked for some too. She always airdropped the photos to them afterwards. She visited Chinatown, visited churches, went to the main square where there was an old fort, walked the pier and saw an amazing sunset.

how’s the beach now? Still clean or do they have to do it one more time.
