February 24 and 25, 2024
I caught the full moon setting on the bay. Pogo went to pickleball and had beer afterwards (at 9:30am!) for their Saturday social. I chatted with Max. We went to La Isla for breakfast. We went to La Comer and saw a young mother juggling on the street with her baby on her back. We prepared a bunch of appetizers and had Michel and Dee over around 3:30pm till 6:30pm. I saw DOD Mike, Pogo’s frenemy, leaving the pool with his new girlfriend. I noticed his white roots were quite pronounced :). We watched the sunset, spent time on our tablets, put some ice packs on my knee then went to bed.
Sunday morning, the moon was still shining brightly on the bay. I talked some more with Max. Pogo paid some bills. I wrote my blog. We had breakfast here. I had forgotten what cereals tasted like. I didn’t like it.
Pogo talked to Bobino. Unfortunately he hasn’t been able to play pickleball the last 2 months because of a tennis elbow injury. I know how he feels unfortunately. We saw whales jumping really high from our balcony. We went to the pool and Jean-Francois had arrived and was happy to see all his friends, especially Mario. We went for lunch at Mozza Mare with Mario, Josée, Diane, Alain and their family. I met baby Bloom for the first time. What a cutie!!
Pogo took a nap. I played dice with Josée and finally beat her. We went to the pool again. We watched the first 2 episodes of Griselda which we really liked.
Maxime’s Travels Update:
She has been trying to decide where to go and what to do next. She will probably stay in Moalboal until the 27th then go to Malapascua for 3 nights, then Cebu for 1 night then fly north where she would stay for 9 days. She thinks she will be back in Vermont on March 13th then back in Oaxaca on March 20th.
She hired a private guide to do some free diving, specifically to do what’s called the sardine run as there are millions and millions of sardines over there. She and her guide took amazing pictures. She will go back again to hopefully see some turtles. After her session, she was working back at her hotel and her guide made her a pizza and brought it to her. So sweet.
On a different note, Max had warned me at the beginning of our vacation, not to go to Sayulita this year as she had read that a lot of people were getting sick there. Friends of ours went for a day and she got really sick and was in bed for 3 days. On Facebook, a lot of people are mentioning the same thing. I’m glad we didn’t go and are definitely not planning on going this year.
