January 27 and 28, 2024
Sherry and I went to have our coffee at the penthouse while Pogo and Derrick went to pickleball. We saw the crocodile again but this time it was really close to shore. It would have been nice to see it come to shore.
Everybody went to Proyecto Darwin for breakfast but me. I was feeling really under the weather so decided to just rest for the day. On their return they went to the pool.
I felt good enough to go to Punta de Mita for dinner. I noticed that Moira had a cut on her nose. She said that before breakfast, Andrew told her that the crocodile was back so she hurried to the balcony to see it and thought the door was opened…She hit her face really hard. Poor thing.
We first went to Terraza de Manolo for drinks and to enjoy the beautiful view. We then went to Mina for dinner. We all shared queso fundido. I could eat it for the rest of my life everyday and I would be happy. I had mahi mahi and the others had chicken mole, blue shrimp, enchiladas, fish tacos and cochinita pibil. Margaritas were flowing. I told the waiter that we were celebrating Sherry’s birthday so he brought her dessert with a big sparkle and the musicians to sing for her. Speaking of musicians, they were not mariachis 😦 but we had them sing Cucurrucucu La Paloma, Mom’s favorite, and they were fantastic! Best rendition we have heard so far. There were also many tears. It was such a great meal in our favorite restaurant for the last night of Mom, Sherry, Dan, Moira and Andrew’s vacation.
Sunday morning our guests packed their bags for their return home. Derrick and Deidre left their condo and moved in with us. Deidre and I said our goodbyes and took a taxi to La Cruz to go to the market. Pogo and Derrick drove everyone to the airport then Derrick returned his car and Pogo exchanged our mini van for a smaller car. Stephanie was at the fair so she joined us. It was really hot and still not feeling good, I was feeling a little lightheaded. We had lunch at the La Cruz Inn but inside under the fans which felt good. The boys ate at Buongiorno. We took a taxi home, rested, went to the pool and had a delicious dinner at Nicksan at 7pm. They did big changes there. They built a bar and round sitting tables over the decorative fountain pool. It looked amazing! I had to leave quickly because my belly was very upset so Pogo brought me home just in time. I think my body was telling me to rest.
Meanwhile the deer are enjoying our bushes while we are away.

Bambi’s got nerves… and laser eyes.
