January 15 & 16, 2023
After breakfast, we had a few errands to do and Mom chose to stay at the condo because she had not slept well. She had been battling a cold for the last 2 weeks and she had little energy. Her cold medicine was also making her a little sleepy. She took a Covid test to be on the safe side and it was negative.
We first went to reserve two pickleball courts for 5pm so we could play with our friends. We then went to Paradise Village. We had a coffee at Starbucks, Pogo bought a hat at one of the stores and we bought some food at the grocery store.
We decided to have a small lunch at La Isla to go see Graciela. It was nice seeing her again. The giant iguanas were back in the parking lot feasting on the restaurant’s leftovers. We shared a club sandwich.
Besides doing a little laundry, moving more knickknacks and Pogo preparing chicken enchiladas for dinner, we took the rest of the afternoon easy and did some balconville.
Pogo and I met our friends at the pickleball courts at 5pm and played for almost 2 hours or until it was too dark to play. A couple from Joliette, Michel and Sylvie, happened to arrive at the same time on the courts so they joined us. I was glad that my elbow didn’t hurt too much and happy with the way I played after not playing for the last 9 months. Hopefully I can continue. I forgot to take pictures.
We had Pogo’s enchiladas for dinner which were delicious and I made a salad. We watched a little tv and went to bed early.
Tuesday morning, Pogo went to play pickleball again. Mom and I drove to the market at 9:15am and it was already so crowded. I was lucky to find a place to park. Mom bought two nice tops. I bought one. Pogo met us there and we drove to Mama Nena for a late breakfast.
After sitting in the sun on the balcony for a while, Pogo and I met our friends next door at “Etc” for a margarita while Mom rested. We were introduced to some of Mario’s friends Roger and Johanne from Gatineau Qc who are spending their winters in Rincon de Guayabitos in their motorhome. We came back to the condo, made margaritas, grabbed Mom and met everyone in the pool.
We sat on the balcony to watch an incredible sunset, had a salad with chicken for dinner. Mom was really tired so she went to bed early so Pogo and I went upstairs to Mario and Josée’s condo to finish the evening.
We facetimed with Max who had just been dropped off by Shaun at her hotel in Montreal. Tomorrow she will start her new travel adventure with her first flight from Montreal to Japan, in business class nonetheless which after spending tons of time learning about it, she was able to get for only 60,000 points. I’m so excited for her and to discover new places through her lens.
It makes me realize that I’m forgetting to take pictures. Oops!
Welcome to my new reader Diane!
