Nuevo Nayarit Day 83

April 2, 2023

We went to Darwin for breakfast and I enjoyed their “famous” cinnamon roll. I’m sorry that Deidre wasn’t able to enjoy another one but I let her know how delicious it was. See you next year Darwin!

From there, we tried an alternate route to go to the airport on Tuesday, in case of more protests. It was through lots of dusty farmland roads and we even crossed a steep dry riverbed. If we have to take that road, it will take us an hour and a half but we will avoid the congestion. Fingers crossed we don’t have to as it was very bumpy. It was still very beautiful and I’m always amazed at the humongous trees all over the place.

I spent a good amount of time working on my aunt’s eulogy. I still don’t know if I will have the strength to read it but at least I’m making some improvement.

We spent time at and in the pool.

Pogo made dinner with our leftovers from the fridge: beef tacos, lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing and a tomato rice.

I packed a little bit more.

I found out from Max that the cat was named Quesillo (slang for small cheese) and not Casillo. Now, that makes sense. Talking about Max, she went back to Chichen Itza yesterday and I’m totally jealous because the two times we tried to go in January, the road to it was blocked with protesters…

Shaun went to a classic Vermont store and said he got us some good treats! Can’t wait!

We enjoyed another amazing sunset.
