I got up at 7:15am but the others didn’t get up until 9am. Too many before, during and after dinner drinks I would say.
I did one set of knee exercises before we went to Proyeco Darwin for breakfast. Deidre was still drooling over the cinnamon roll she had had there a few days ago and couldn’t wait to eat another one. Of course, they didn’t have any. We still had a delicious breakfast.
Our adventure of the day was going to the Botanical Gardens. We stopped first at Los Arcos to take some pictures. Pogo flew his drone over 2 humongous manta rays. I bought 3 sodas for us and it cost $10! Crazy!
We also stopped at Boca de Tomatlan and we showed Derrick and Deidre the house across the little river where Mom was supposed to take a weeklong painting class years ago. We had gone to visit the venue with her the first time we went to Boca de Tomatlan and had crossed the river by foot to get to it. I’m including a picture of Sherry and I crossing that little river.
We arrived at the Botanical Gardens at 2pm. I took a ton of pictures as usual. I particularly love the orchids and the succulent gardens. I noticed how many signs they now had everywhere, some really silly. They also have increased the entrance fee to $15 from $10 last year. While we explored the place, Pogo went to hang out at his favorite place, a breezy little terrace with couches in the main building. When he arrived there, a couple was sitting on one of the couches and the lady was all spread out on it. Very classy.
We had lunch with a jungle view on the top terrace and unfortunately I didn’t see any hummingbirds. Afterwards, Pogo went back to his couch while we explored some more. The cute little chapel had been painted white instead of the vibrant pink it used to be. I missed the vibrancy of the pink.
Our last stop was the Galerias El Triunfo to see all the tacky unusual stuff for sale there.
We got back around 6pm. Pogo and Deidre chilled on the couch and Derrick went for a swim. We watched a little tv later on. We were not hungry after eating late at the gardens. I was actually a little nauseous. I had a hard time falling asleep because I thought I might get sick.
