Happy Birthday to Derrick!
We had fruit bowls for breakfast and Derrick and Pogo went to pickleball at 10:15am. I didn’t think it was a great idea for Pogo to go since he was certainly not back to normal. My therapist had told me not to play until the swelling in my knee was gone so hopefully I will be able to play on Friday. Meanwhile I did the exercises she gave me. It took me 65 minutes to do them all plus another 20 minutes of icing my knee. Ridiculous! And I’m supposed to do that 3 times a day? I don’t think so! I will do them once a day and will discuss it with her when I see her next.
Deidre and I went to Paradise Village to do a little shopping. She bought a beautiful shirt for Derrick’s birthday gift. We picked the guys up at pickleball and drove to Mama Nena for an early afternoon breakfast. Leo, the manager who we always chat with when we go, brought Derrick a birthday cake. I noticed that people sitting around us were wearing the same color shirt as their chairs’ color.
Pogo couldn’t wait to get back to the condo as his back was really hurting again. He took Advil and a long nap and started feeling better. He made a guacamole. We had invited Mario and Josée to join us for pre-dinner margaritas at our condo then we all took a taxi to Bucerias for dinner at Mezzogiorno. We shared bruschetta and garlic bread with gorgonzola. All the pasta dishes were great. Derrick got another birthday dessert.
We took a taxi back and went to our friends’ condo for nightcaps. The conversation revolved mostly around Chicken Boy and pickleball and by the end of the evening, I think we had decided to start a franchise of bbq chicken, fried pickle and maybe cinnamon rolls served by boys wearing yellow pompoms on their hat, or something like that…
Shaun sent me a picture of a beautiful winter scenery and Max sent me a picture of a beautiful drone shot from her friend Ryan of Guatape, Colombia where they were spending a few days. She was taking the red eye back to Mexico City later on.
