Nuevo Nayarit Day 67

March 17, 2023

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

I woke up on time to sign Derrick up for tomorrow morning’s pickleball session. As soon as the time turns to 7:30am, you need to click the button on the app because they only have a limited amount of players. Pogo couldn’t do it because he needed to do the same thing for himself.

Shaun sent me pictures of the snow slowly coming down his tin roof, creating a snow curtain on his front porch.

Pogo came back at 8:30am after hurting his back 10 minutes into pickleball. He could hardly walk home. He took some Advil and went to bed.

Derrick and Deidre almost missed their connecting flight to PV in Chicago but after running a half mile in the airport, made it one minute before the door of the plane closed.

I drove to the drugstore at Paradise Village and bought Pogo some muscle relaxants. I picked up a few painkillers from Mario and he decided to try that first. Once in bed, he wasn’t able to move without excruciating pain. The painkillers weren’t helping at all. He asked Mario to drive with me to the airport to go pick up our guests. They came out as we were arriving to the airport so it worked out well.

I made some appetizers and margaritas and we chatted around Pogo’s bed for awhile. He had decided to lay down in the small room as the bed is higher than the one in our room.

Our guests rested for a few hours then the 3 of, after much deliberation and pressure from Pogo, went to dinner at Sabal Playa. Our friends Jean-Marie and Christiane had organized a dinner there to celebrate birthdays. It was a nice venue on the ocean. They had a buffet which included salad, all kinds of veggies and grilled shrimp, steak, chicken and ribs. Everything was really good and the drinks were all included. Being St Patrick’s Day, they had put green glasses and headbands on the tables and the margaritas were green as well.

We were probably 20 at our table but there were probably a hundred people there. After dinner, they played some disco music and everyone started dancing. We didn’t stay long as I was worried about Pogo and Derrick and Deidre were tired.

Shaun and Ashley were staying at our house because a transport company was delivering Mario’s new corvette the next morning and someone needed to check the car and pay for the transport. They went to McKee’s for corned beef and green beer.

Max did a walking tour in Medellin.
