Nuevo Nayarit Day 60

March 10, 2023

Pogo was still covered with bug bites from San Blas but his knees were much better so we went to Mama Nena for breakfast. We sat in the garden this time and it was nice to have a different point of view of the restaurant. Leo the manager came to chat with us. They are starting private evening dinners. The meal would consist of 3 courses with Mexican wines and flambé coffees. They will also have music. They have their first event next Wednesday with a group of 25 people. He said they would do it for a group of 10 or more. I’m not sure how much that would cost.

We went to find a place for motorcycle rentals for Pogo and Derrick but the first place we stopped at was only selling them and the other place was closed. We went to Paradise Market to buy some banana bread because I wanted to bring some to Josée who had had her eyelid surgery in the morning. The lady gave me a marbled cake instead. It was still good but disappointing to not have the cake she loves. Her eyes were understandably quite swollen and bruised but she was doing good otherwise. I spent time with her while Mario drove his sister to the airport.

We left at 4:15pm to go to Pogo’s one hour physical therapy appointment and I went to do a small grocery. We then went to Bucerias to discover a new Italian restaurant to us, called Mezzogiorno. It was another restaurant suggested by the doctor we have been seeing for our knees. It was a great discovery! The location is right on the beach with beautiful views and the food was excellent. We shared some bruschetta and Pogo had chicken parmesan and I had Bolognese pasta. I didn’t finish it so we could share a tiramisu. All very yummy!

We watched the first episode of Beyond Paradise, a spin off of Death in Paradise and the jury is still out.
