Nuevo Nayarit Day 48

February 26, 2023

Today’s adventure was all about the polo brunch at La Patrona in San Pancho. We left the house at 9:30am, early enough to have time to see the horses in their stalls and to walk the beautiful grounds. Sadly the main building where we usually eat was closed but they had set up couches by the polo field with big umbrellas. It was actually quite pleasant to feel the breeze and the heat under the shade. It used to be unlimited free alcoholic drinks but now you only get one.

The food was really good. They had set up different stations all over the main area: a breakfast station for omelets or chilaquiles, a tostada station, a salad station, a drink station with pineapple or hibiscus agua frescas with some pastries and also a grilling station with octopus, ribs, shrimp, steak and 3 kinds of sausages. Our waiter Thomas was very attentive, bringing us beverages as needed and moving the umbrella to make sure we were always in the shade.

Edward and Pogo droned a lot as soon as the polo matches started. It is such a beautiful and quiet venue. I love it there! We drove a little bit in town when we left the polo ground to show Michel and Ted. Pogo dropped Michel and I in Bucerias so we could do a little shopping and he picked up my MRIs at the hospital on his way back. We both bought silver bracelets. We took a Uber home.

Pogo had made a pitcher of margaritas that he brought to the pool where we spent about an hour having some good laugh with old and new friends, watching the sun set.

We decided to have a late dinner at Nicksan and Mario and Josée joined us. It was delicious, we ate too much, and walked back home just in time to fall in bed.

I love the pic Max sent me of a hummingbird she took in Oaxaca!
