Pogo played pickleball and I did laundry and caught up with friends. We went to La Isla for breakfast at 11am. There were a bunch of huge iguanas. Josée came to say hello on her way back from having a pedicure. We then followed Graciela to her spa in Mezcales, about 15 minutes drive. She told us that her younger son, who is a lawyer, bought 3 townhouses in Mezcales, lives in one and gave her the other two. She moved in one from Puerto Vallarta and is using the other one for her spa.
The spa includes a mani pedi room and two facial/massage rooms. It doesn’t have a hair salon but Graciela had arranged for her hairstylist Juan Garcia to come there to color my hair. We found out that he’s supposedly a famous stylist who works at the Four Seasons hotel. He put a chair in front of a mirror and proceeded to color my hair. All I wanted was to cover my roots. I ended up with a different color and a haircut… I guess the artist in him needed to do a full job? All I know is that I didn’t see it coming. I specifically asked to color only my roots but he said that my hair was orange, red and yellow in the back so he needed to fix it…okkk…then after washing my hair in the kitchen sink, not very comfortable I might add, I specifically said no haircut and he said just a trim for dead ends….Now my hair is all in layers and shorter and also a different color than it was…Oh well.
Pogo had his haircut too. We were obviously charged the Four Seasons tourist rate without the comfort of a salon and paid more than I pay at home! With tip, it cost us $180 usd!! Next time it will be Miss Clairol and I…
3 hours later, we stopped at a Burger place called La Lata Burgers for a late lunch, early dinner. That’s all we could afford. The burgers were ok but the lemonade was fantastic.
I talked to my cousin Martin and he told me that he was coming home tomorrow instead of Monday from his work in Florida because he wants to be with his Mom. The nurse went to visit my aunt and he said that she is too weak for treatment as she hardly eats or drinks. She sleeps a lot. She has liquid on her lungs that needs to be removed as soon as possible because she has a hard time breathing now. They will make her comfortable at Martin’s house but the nurse will request a place at the palliative care center as soon as she can’t take care of herself. The cancer has progressed really quickly. Unfortunately, I feel that if they had started the treatment a month ago when they found out she had cancer, it would have helped her because she still had strength. I am so furious and sad.
I also Facetimed with Max for an hour and she told me that she has been really busy exploring Mexico City for her upcoming tours. She did food tours, excursions, visited hotels, restaurants, museums, etc and made a ton of phone calls to compare pricing. Hopefully all that hard work will pay up soon.
Lately It has been getting cloudy just before sunset so it wasn’t a great one tonight. I made us some Bloody Caesars and we started watching Emily in Paris. We like it.

Snip snip said the coiffeur. Looks good though
