Mexico – Day 88

Max didn’t feel good this morning so Pogo and I walked to La Isla for breakfast and brought her back a BLTA. They were really busy at the restaurant so we got back only at noon.

Gilberto, one of the guard, told us that they had removed the ropes and chairs from the beach because they knew that beach inspectors (people with the red tapes) were coming to test the quality of the sand. Legally they are not supposed to have chairs or fencing on the public beach but all hotels and condos do it.

I continued packing some of the stuff we are leaving at the condo then I sat on the porch with Max soaking up sun rays. I had checked the weather home and the forecast called for 3 consecutive days of rain when we arrive. I’m realizing that it is very important to enjoy the sunshine as much as possible.

We went for dinner at La Sonorita Al Pastor for, you guessed it, Al Pastor tacos. They had not started warming up the meat on the vertical rotisserie so we decided to share a torta with chorizo while we were waiting. Now I bet we will find tortas all over the place. This one was actually really good. When the meat was done, they brought us our delicious tacos. The whole time we were there, we had a cat begging for food and attention. It kept rolling around our ankles and even sat on the empty chair at our table. The waiter sprayed him with water a few time to shoo him away but he always came back.

We finished the last episode of Bad Vegan and we are still scratching our heads as we can’t figure out how involved the main character was.

It seemed that everyone and their mother were doing fireworks last night. Of course the closest ones started right after we went to bed.
