Mexico – Day 48

I woke up to a pretty sunrine. Lots of coffee was consumed before we all left at 10:15am. I had Pilates at 10:30, Derrick got a haircut and Deidre had Pilates at 11:30am. Because they had decided to go to Sayulita while I was exercising, we had to go back to the condo so I could change and grab Deidre different clothes. We went back to pick Deidre up and were on our way.

There was so much traffic! For about 20 minutes in the mountain, we were at stand still and were thinking of turning back but it finally started moving. It was caused by the never ending construction of the new highway.

Sayulita was busier than ever as well. Pogo and Derrick dropped us off at our favorite little restaurant Yekame and went to find a place to park. We couldn’t believe it was already 2pm. We were all starving. Deidre and I had ordered guacamole and chips and unknowingly Pogo ordered melted cheese and chorizo as well. It came with blue tortillas. We were full before our main dishes arrived but we ate most of them anyway; Pogo and I had chinita pibil, Derrick had chicken fajitas and Deidre had chiles rellenos. We walked around town for a little bit and saw lots of construction there as well. I was so sad to see the little churck with any flags as it is always so colorful and my favorite picture to take in Sayulita. To make sure to avoid traffic, we took the road back going through Punta de Mita instead.

We were back around 5pm and took a little nap. We noticed that the glass of one of the sliding doors is coming out of the frame. Pogo was watching a couple trying to fly a kite and they kept crashing. It was driving him crazy so he decided to go to the beach to help them out. He spent 30 minutes teaching them where to stand in the wind, how to untangle the ropes, etc.

We sat on the porch watching the sunset, sipping on a cocktail and because we were restless, decided that we might as well go out for dinner so we went to La Isla at 8pm. We normally need a reservation for dinner but being that late, they were able to find us a table. Both Andreas and Graciela were working and they looked exhausted. Pogo had ribs, I had coconut shrimp, Deidre had a Caesar with skirt steak and Derrick had the Tropical Salad with shrimp. Haha, this blog wouldn’t have much content if not for the food we eat. I’m gaining weight just to have content. You are welcome…
