Mexico – Day 28

We had a busy morning. First we called Shauny for his 31st birthday. It was great to hear his voice and catch up. Then it was grocery, Starbuck, car wash and gas station, cleaned fruits and veggies, cooked some some onion and chorizo for quesadillas, and prepared guest bedroom and bathroom.

We had lunch at the Marival Beach Club with Mario and Josée. 3 of us had the grilled Mahi Mahi and Mario had a steak. The food was delicious but the service was very slow.

Max sent me some videos of her being serenaded in Mexico City by a group of 7 mariachis. Of course she requested Cucurrucucu La Paloma. She told them Mexico is a special place for her family and that the song is her Grandmother’s favorite. It definitely put a tear in my eyes. She also sent me a picture of a statue of Pedro Infante, who popularized the song. It made me think of Ernesto de la Cruz from Coco. HaHa!

Derrick and Deirdre’s arrived early and they were out of the airport in 20 minutes, having only carry-ons.

We got back home in time for the sunset. We caught up, had appetizers then dinner on the balcony.
